What's the best futures trade copier for prop firms?

Short answer: The best copier is the one that supports your exact trading connection and firm rules. TradeLink is a strong low-cost fit for self-directed Tradovate copying at $40/month. TradeSyncer and Tradecopia publish broader integration lists; native Tradovate Group Trade and TopstepX copying may work for narrower account setups without buying an additional tool.

A practical comparison—not a paid ranking

“Best” has no universal answer. For a trader running many Tradovate accounts, account capacity and one flat bill may matter most. For someone using Rithmic, TradingView or TopstepX, an unsupported connection is an immediate disqualifier, however attractive the price. For a trader who only needs native functionality inside one brokerage connection, a built-in group feature may be simpler.

Start with the connection, not the marketing features

Write down the actual connection used by each account: Tradovate, Rithmic, TopstepX or another platform/datafeed. A firm can offer several platforms under different programs, and a front-end interface is not always proof of API compatibility.

TradeLink currently connects through Tradovate. Its homepage mentions Rithmic as coming soon, which is not the same as a production integration. TradeSyncer advertises Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic and additional platforms. Tradecopia lists Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic, TopstepX and TradingView routes. If you need one of those integrations today, evaluate a provider that actually lists it.

Also read your prop firm's rules. Permission to use a copier depends on firm policy and account ownership, not the software vendor's compatibility list. See our prop firm copy-trading rules guide.

Hosting: cloud copier versus desktop copier

TradeLink is designed to run server-side so the browser can close after setup. TradeSyncer markets cloud copying without a VPS. Tradecopia's entry Pro plan runs as a desktop application, while its Pro+ Lite plan includes managed hosting and browser access. Those are not identical hosting models even if both products claim real-time replication.

For a trader who travels or uses a laptop, consider what happens after a computer sleeps, the internet drops, the browser closes, or a broker session expires. Ask which component needs to remain online and how you receive warnings when an account rejects an order. Your copyer's hosting is only part of a safe trading workflow.

Account limits, sizing and risk controls matter more than headline latency

Consider three example portfolios: five accounts under one Tradovate login, twenty accounts spread across three prop firm logins, and a mixed Tradovate/Rithmic portfolio. The first two can be candidates for TradeLink if all connections are supported. The third is not a current all-in-one TradeLink fit even if it has only two accounts, because one connection is unsupported.

When comparing tools, verify fixed sizing versus multipliers, leader partial fills, rejections, group pause controls and how individual risk limits interact with your broker. A copied trade might fill later, at a different price or not at all. No platform's marketing tagline removes market and execution risks.

What to test before paying for a trade copier

  1. Confirm each exact broker login is supported in production.
  2. Review the prop firm's terms for copying between accounts you own.
  3. Recreate one small leader/follower group and verify intended quantities.
  4. Check the follower position on the broker's account screen, not only inside the copier.
  5. Test how rejected orders, disconnects and flattening are reported.
  6. Compare your actual monthly bill, including the hosting tier you need.

There is no reliable public apples-to-apples latency, slippage or uptime benchmark for these products in our research, so this guide does not invent a winner in those categories.

Where we would choose something other than TradeLink

Need Rithmic or TopstepX now?

TradeLink does not currently advertise those integrations. Examine alternatives that explicitly support your connection and firm policy rather than buying a product for a promised future feature.

Only need native Group Trade?

Tradovate's built-in grouping or TopstepX's own copier may be sufficient for supported scenarios. Add third-party software only when it solves a real limitation like separate supported logins, hosting or account-level controls.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best futures trade copier for Tradovate?

It depends on how many logins you use and your risk needs. TradeLink offers a $40/month server-side option for supported Tradovate accounts, while Tradovate's native Group Trade can suit simpler eligible groups.

Which trade copiers support Rithmic?

TradeSyncer and Tradecopia publicly list Rithmic. TradeLink currently advertises a Tradovate connection and does not claim live Rithmic support.

Is a cloud trade copier better than desktop software?

A hosted copier may keep running when your computer is off; desktop tools offer a different operational model. Neither guarantees identical fills or removes the need to monitor risk.

Can I copy trades across all prop firms?

No universal permission or compatibility exists. Verify your exact program rules, account ownership and broker connection before using any copier.

Does your account setup fit TradeLink?

TradeLink currently connects through Tradovate. The advertised plan is $40/month for up to 150 accounts and unlimited supported connections. Verify your firm's current policies and each account's connection before subscribing.
