How to copy trades across multiple Tradovate logins

Short answer: Tradovate has built-in Group Trade for eligible accounts, but its grouping rules are narrower than the needs of traders with separate provider logins. A third-party copier that supports multiple Tradovate connections may route trades from one leader account to chosen followers, provided every account is eligible and the firm's copying rules permit it.

Why one Tradovate login is different from several

Tradovate's official Group Trade feature lets you select eligible accounts, set quantities and submit one group order. The documentation limits grouping to accounts held with the same brokerage provider. The Manage Groups menu also depends on having multiple accounts attached to the username. Separate logins from different prop firms are not automatically part of one built-in group.

If your setup consists of multiple accounts with the same firm and login, try the native feature first. It may already meet your needs. If you have separate logins that cannot be grouped, compare supported third-party copiers and their actual connection models rather than assuming Group Trade will bridge those accounts.

Example of a multi-login leader and follower setup

Illustrative configuration

Leader: one Tradovate account you trade manually. Follower A: an evaluation account under another supported Tradovate login. Follower B: a personally owned funded account under another eligible provider. Follower C: an additional supported account with a smaller allowed contract size.

A compatible cross-login copier would connect those accounts, let you select the leader and followers, and apply quantities for each follower. This example is not a claim that any named prop firm permits the setup: contracts, account ownership rules, platform routes and follower permissions must be checked separately.

Setup process for separately issued accounts

  1. Inventory logins. Map each account to its broker/provider and note whether it is evaluation, simulated funded or live.
  2. Read current firm policies. Confirm copying trades between your own accounts is allowed, including order-origin and anti-hedging requirements.
  3. Connect supported Tradovate logins. Confirm all intended accounts appear in the copier and remain authorized.
  4. Build one group first. Set a leader, select followers and specify each follower's desired quantity or multiplier.
  5. Test a small permitted trade. Check the underlying broker's filled quantities rather than relying only on visual dashboard indicators.
  6. Expand carefully. Repeat the checks for other groups and monitor open positions in each account.

What does “unlimited connections” mean?

One login can expose multiple accounts. Account count and connection count therefore measure different things. Some products charge for each account, others charge for logins or use tiered combinations. When comparing tools, count both dimensions and identify the specific underlying broker route for each account.

TradeLink advertises unlimited supported Tradovate logins and up to 150 accounts on its $40/month plan. A vendor's software allowance does not override a prop firm's funded-account cap. If your account runs on Rithmic or TopstepX instead of a supported Tradovate connection, don't count it as compatible with TradeLink today.

Why independent accounts may not stay synchronized

Separate followers can reject because of margin, restricted products, account limits or connection problems. Even when all orders are accepted, partial fills and price changes can create different positions. Tradovate describes order statuses such as Filled, Working, Rejected and Pending New, and its Order Details can show why a particular order was refused.

Before resending an order, check both the leader and follower's net positions. A retry while an earlier order is still pending may accidentally add exposure. See our risk-management and rejection guide for a structured incident checklist.

When a different copier is the better choice

TradeLink focuses on Tradovate today. If you need a mixed Tradovate/Rithmic portfolio, a standalone TopstepX route, or another unsupported platform, look for a product with that connection already in production. The best fit is the service that can copy your permitted accounts, not the one that advertises the largest account allowance.

For basics of the built-in platform feature read the Tradovate trade copier guide. For permission questions see prop-firm copy trading rules.
